As Promised…

September 29th, 2008 · No Comments

As Promised back HERE, I started re-reading my old weight loss books in the hopes of finding some nuggets of wisdom or, at the very least, something funny to share with you. I just wrapped up the first book, Dr. Phil’s Ultimate Weight Loss Guide, and I have to say a big, fat, “zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…..”
The first […]

Roasted Cauliflower

September 27th, 2008 · 3 Comments

I roasted cauliflower tonight, my first experience cooking the stuff. I tossed it in a little olive oil and threw on some salt and a little chopped rosemary. Then, cooked it at 450 degrees for 25 minutes.
Delicious! ( Though, be sure to serve immediatly. It’s not nearly as good when it cools.)

All Quiet on the Eastern Front ( and a Review)

September 26th, 2008 · No Comments

My mom pointed out that I’ve been kind of quiet here lately, so I thought I’d pop in for a quick update.
We’re still recovering from last week’s birthday fun and preparing for the next birthday- Katherine’s, in just a few weeks.
I’m totally exhausted from staying up far too late. In part because Katherine had a […]

Stickk To It

September 24th, 2008 · 2 Comments

My friend Sarah told me about Stickk.com, a site that helps you set contracts with yourself. You can assign a cash value that, if you fail to meet your goal, is remitted to a charity/person of your choice. Kind of a “money where your mouth is” proposition.
I love the idea of a contract, so I […]

We are so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends. Charlotte enjoyed a birthday dinner of her favorite foods- including watermelon and corn on the cob- and we all got to spend some time together. Here are a few pictures.

Triple The Savings

September 18th, 2008 · 5 Comments

After over a month of saving coupons, I finally got to participate in my first triple coupon event. Sounds exciting, right? I took my coupons, combined them with in-store deals, and walked away with some pantry items that I’m SURE we’ll use.
A lot of people have told me that coupons are typically for things they […]

The Biggest Loser premiers tonight. If you’ve never watched it, it’s a great program that is actually inspirational. It’s not your typical reality show.
Who’s watching tonight?

Yay, Cheryl! You won the pedometer challenge! Mimi and Caroline came in second and third. ( This is where I say, “But we’re all winners,” right?)

This Is What Crazy Looks Like

September 15th, 2008 · 2 Comments

These are the books I’ve accumulated in just the last five years or so of dieting. The volume of information I’ve gained from a lifetime of crash diets could fill the Library of Congress. I’ve said it before and I still believe it’s true: A fat person knows more about how to lose weight than […]
