Charlotte all dressed to impress at a friend’s pool. The water wings tend to fall off, resulting in a sinking kid, and the jacket makes her bob around funny, so we put her in both. Surprisingly, she doesn’t seem to mind being trussed up like the kid in “A Christmas Story.”

Learning so much

Katherine has been reading a lot of words lately, but hadn’t read an entire book. ( side note: why does MS Word try to tell me that ‘hadn’t’ isn’t a word? ) Anyway, I dug out an “pre-reader” book this afternoon and sure enough, she can read it! I almost made a video of her […]

You have no idea

I’ve been neglecting the blog, sorry. Mostly because twitter is easier and I’ve found that I can no longer write in more than 140 characters.
Also, Katherine started Kindergarten and with that has come a new change in our routine. I feel compelled to make sure she has a really good breakfast every morning because I […]

Bookin’ it

I have a Pat Conroy book waiting on the kitchen counter, begging to be read. But somehow, I just can’t do it. I keep looking at it, thinking about how great it will be. I’m worried that when I pick it up I’ll be disappointed.
Whether it’s a great book or not, it takes a great […]

First day of Kindergarten. Katherine got upset for a few minutes but the teacher made her a special “helper” and she perked right up. Here’s hoping the year goes well.

I’m FAMOUS

I’ve had the good fortune to meet some very cool people via twitter. We met up Thursday night (tweetup!) at a local restaurant and discovered that not only are we all awesome online, we’re a lot of fun when we gather around drinks and apps. Call me an internet geek if you will, but twitter […]

Katherine finished a week-long baton twirling camp last week. This is the recital on the final day of camp. The instructor told me that she is “a natural.” I’m not sure what to think about that. Just proud she was good at it and had fun, I suppose, though I never thought we’d have a […]

More, More to Love ( Random Thoughts)

I might have to stop watching this show. The women and guy are making me crazy. Nuts. Totally insane, and it’s not their fault. I want them to have exemplary behavior because I don’t want anyone to have a reason to make fun of them. I’m furious when they behave stupidly, because it makes them […]
