Katherine (4 years old) says to me yesterday: “Mom, it was Owen’s birthday today at school. We had cookies and a gay parade. It was GREAT!”
I think they might have sent a note home announcing a gay parade at school, or at the very least made some rainbow flags that would have tipped me off, so I figured this was a case of mispronunciation. I dug a little to figure out if what she meant. Turns out, a gay parade is a “really good drink.”

See, at my son’s preschool he might actually have had a gay parade. I mentioned this to my friend whose son also went to I’s preschool and she said “yea, we could’ve had one of those”. (but would’ve never had Gatorade…the hippies would’ve not liked that)
